OTHER INFORMATION HISTORY: 21st November, 2010 Today is the eve of my birthday, my twenty-fifth to be exact. Tomorrow there will be no celebrations, no balloons and confetti, no friends, no family, no gifts bought at the last moment or overly sugared cake pumped with additives and false tidings. Tomorrow there will be police on my doorstep, tears and screaming, accusations, suspicious mutterings behind my back and a one-way ticket from this place. I’d like to leave it clear as of now than I’m not running away; I’m just moving on. I’m done with this place and I’m prepared to continue on with the crooked path life is paving out for me. Here I may be surrounded by all the people I’ve known since birth and supposedly love but… that’s the point for my flight. It’s suffocating and oppressive, like thick, swathes of itchy material binding my joints, my face, nose and mouth; it’s limiting me greatly. I believe I mentioned in my last entry that a local kid just so happened to disappear. As much as it’d please me (or not) to say he’s alive and kicking, I’m afraid I can’t. They recovered his corpse from the lake last night, just before supper. Our meal was tinged with the news and it was as if the scent of death actually impregnated our house and petty dinner conversation. It was heady and thick in the air, like a stench you can’t shake from your linen or clothes. It lingered; invisible yet clear as day. FEARS:
