{{ It's burning me up inside Lost all my tears, can't cry No reason, no meaning Just hatred No matter how hard I try You fear the beast inside It's growing, it's waiting Just to hurt you This heart was hurt by the light and I see your world that tries to deny Now everything that I love has died or has been shattered to pieces }}
Lia stood there, staring at the tractor. It was old, that much was obvious. It must have been red once upon a time, but now it was rusty and the paint had faded to a dull orange-ish color. The leather seat was cracked and the seams had long since begun to split. Her arms were crossed in front of her and a small key was dangling from her right hand. She was having a hard time believing it would actually work(if it ever did). According to Jacob's journals it should work fine, but then she never really did trust any mechanical sort of things. She found them quite unreliable and they always seemed to be breaking around her, However, she needed the tractor to work. She wasn't in such great shape(that hoe was heavy!) and, until she got stronger, she needed a way to till the field. She started forward, unfolding her arms as she went, and climbed up on the old tractor. The tractor rumbled to life as she turned the key. A smile spread across her face as she heard it start, happy that it started. When she arrived she had found the bookcase full of journals. She read quite a few of them and one had been on how to drive the tractor. Earlier in the day she had come out and tried to figure out how to drive it(without actually turning it on). So, now that it was on, she decided to give it a try. As it turned out, it was much simpler than she thought it would be. She had barely got forward two feet when the tractor shuddered underneath her and stopped dead. The rare smile vanished off her face as her newly raised hopes plummeted. Damn tractor ... she thought, irritated. With a sigh she climbed off, slipping the key into the pocket of her dark blue jeans. Moving closer to the front she revealed the engine. All she saw was a jumbled mess of metal and tubes and she didn't understand any of it. WORDS: 347 LYRICS: Blue Eyes, Within Temptation NOTES: Damn tractor.

[atrb=border,0,true]the path of idleness The sun was shining, the air was crisp but not cold. It was too good a day to be indoors. Even for a certain blond who preferred the sanctity of a ‘lab’ more often than anything, it was simply too good a day to be spending indoors. For this reason alone, Ulric was out. There was nothing he needed to buy nor did he have money to buy it with even if there was, and thus rather than wander around shops that he couldn't buy from at the moment, Ric decided to take his legs farther out away from the main part of town and towards the ranches. A wooden door slammed before keys turned sealing it shut from any possible intruders while the owner was gone. Only then were steps made away from the ‘store’ or ‘lab’ or ‘home’ or whatever exactly it was considering it was some obscure mixture of all three, and the blond who resided there made his way out onto the street. Dressed in his normal green jacket and green jeans, Ulric stretched both arms upwards even as he walked before fishing into the pocket of his shirt and pulling out- not the pack of cigarettes he would normally have carried but a large red lollipop that he was hoping to supplement his cravings with. Unwrapping the wrapper that was reflecting a considerable amount of light at him, Rick succeeded in inserting the sucker into his mouth. Man it’s bright outside.. the blond mentally sighed to himself squinting in order to dim the light until his eyes had adjusted. How long had it been since he had last been outside, even? A few days or so? Honestly he couldn’t quite remember off the top of his head, heh. Work had enticed him enough to abandon the outdoors for a bit, but now with one major project out of the way and with the day being as perfect as it appeared to be, it was time to go out and… well.. do something… which probably just constituted wandering around until he found something of interest that didn’t require the changing of hands of cash. Eyes flashed around to the various buildings in the area that he was currently in, but having lived in the area most of his life, Ulric knew it all well already. There was sparsely anything new as he saw it anyways… Mmmm how… boring. This was the thought process that would continue for an hour or so as Ulric wandered farther and farther out of his natural setting and out into where his legs had supposed would provide something of better interest. The natural settings now were a bit of a change at the very least. It felt even less busy than the more urban area- if that could even be considered urban in classification now that Ulric thought of it. City-slickers would probably think even where he was living was some kind of rural construct rather than anything, and this was somehow amusing to Ulric in all senses of the word. When it came down to it, al that ensured was that life was determined by people’s perspectives rather than any sort of universal nomenclature. Various thoughts came and went from Ulric’s mind, none of them really worth mentioning considering they were mostly dispersed ideas of the land and such that he was viewing. When he happened upon a fence, the blond simply climbed over it with surprising ease before continuing on his way. What finally caught his eye and his attention was the back of a woman who appeared to be looking at--- an engine? A brief smile flashed over Ulric’s face as he thought over the general usages of such machines. How useful they were in creating various things and—Ah.. erhm… Deciding to draw closer, Ulric inserted both hands into the pockets of his jeans and started forwards. ”Engine trouble?” he questioned with ease. Sure this woman didn’t look familiar, but he wasn’t the type to simply ignore someone especially when it seemed there might be some common interest afoot. - notes Words: 682 Anything else: Sorry it took me longer than expected~ but here ya go :3
