[atrb=border,0,true]"Harvest Goddess...." It was a crisp spring morning when Hazel set herself on the path to the Harvest Goddess Shrine. It had become a daily routine with neither rain nor shine stopping her from coming out. With an umbrella in one hand and a small bouquet of wildflowers in the other, Hazel had left her home in high spirits.
Whistling as she walked, the young woman didn't even care that the gentle morning rain beat down on her. Making the thin white cotton dress she wore ever so transparent. It wasn't like she ran into anyone this early in the morning, as the sun began to break over the horizon. Hazel had a mission, and a slight wardrobe malfunction wasn't going to stop her. Granted, if it got any harder she'd have to put her umbrella up.
Approaching the shrine, Hazel called out a cheery greeting as if she was meeting with an old friend. In a way, she was. For the last two years she had arrived daily at the shrine to offer up something in return for the Goddess' blessing on her farm land. Coming up to the steps Hazel sat down in her usual spot. With her back to the shrine, she pulled her knees up and placed the flowers beside her.
"Good morning Goddess." Hazel said, running her fingers over the marble surface on which she sat. "It's been a lovely day, despite the rain. It'll warm up later and then the sun will be up. I won't even get mad if my hair poofs out from the humidity. After all, I don't have to water the garden today, right?" Hazel ended, with a laugh.
Of course, she expect no response, but it was a habit. Smiling, the girl leaned back, allowing her body to rest gently against the beautiful stone work depicting the Goddess in all her beauty. Allowing her legs to stretch out and down the three small steps, her feet came to rest upon the ground. Kicking off her flip flops, Hazel allowed her toes to tangle in with the grass.
The rain continued to make it's way to the earth, causing the small white dress to hug the small woman's form. Regardless of how vulnerable and naked she felt, it was somewhat intimate to be so exposed before the blessed goddess. Leaning her head back and closing her eyes, Hazel enjoyed the pitter-patter of the warm spring rain and the chirping of the birds.
OOC: Perfect time for an extremely awkward meeting! Throw me your worst! |

Angel had came to the Harvest Goddess statue a little earlier then Hazel knowing her friend Hazel would be there in a short time like she always did so she had hided behind the statue and when Hazel asked if she did need to water her garden Angel said from behind the statue "That's true my child you don't need to water your crops today" Angel said in a warm and in a motherly voice Angel were sitting there in her red dress and fiery red hair all over the place she were in a good mood this fine morning even tho it were raining but that did just mean no need to water the plants

[atrb=border,0,true]"Oh!" Hazel found herself jumping what felt like five feet into the air. Had it not been for the low slope of the steps, the poor woman would have toppled over when she heard the words. Normally, her rather logical brain would have told her it was someone playing a trick on her or even words in the wind. Of course, logic left her the moment she was scared.
Assuming it was the statue, therefor the Goddess, talking to her Hazel quickly readjusted herself. Half bowing as she tried to awkwardly smooth out her dress her blue eyes danced with interest. "Harvest.... Harvest Goddess?" She ventured, eye to the ground to show respect. "Is that you?"
'Of course it's not you, dumby.' Her mind said, swatting away the illogical notion of a shrine talking to her. The Harvest Goddess wouldn't speak to mortals in such a manner. Such meetings were rare, if not legendary. Peering around curiously, Hazel could almost imagine someone playing a trick on her. After two years coming here and not a word from the Goddess, why would she now pop up?
Not wanting to offend the possibly deity Hazel didn't want to dash around the shrine, checking to see if it really was her. "This isn't some sort of trick is it?" Hazel asked the monument rather blatantly, hands on her hips. If this did end up some sort of joke, she'd be rather mifted.

Angel said from behind the Statue "it's a Trick dear and it will always be a trick" as she walked out from behind the statue wearing her red dress and her long soaked red hair down her back.. "you should know by now that she's never gonna talk but always listen" she said and walked over beside Hazel her good and bestest friend that angel had a slight crush on from the day they had meet the first time all those years back..
"so you still go up here everyday i see?, i wanted to test if you were as accurate as always and you were same time always" she said and gave her a hug before she looked out in the rain with a smile thinking about how wonderful a day it were having meet Hazel this early in the morning and even talked with her it were like ages ago since that had happed last or yesterday morning

[atrb=border,0,true]"Harvest Goddess...." Had it not been Angel who stepped out from behind the statue, Hazel would have been pissed. Not just normal pissed off, but cursing and stamping her feet pissed off. Who would be so cruel as to mock the Harvest Goddess in such a fashion? Of course, seeing now that it was her best friend, it wasn't so much of a mean joke but a happy encounter.
"You silly girl! You had me believing it was really the Goddess speaking to me!" Hazel laughed, pulling her friend in for a quick tight hug. Despite the dampness of both their clothes the familiarity of her friend made the slight discomfort disappear. Letting go Hazel sat back down, her back resting against the shrine with her legs stretched out. Toes buried deeply in the untrimmed grass Hazel too found herself just staring out at the fields before her. "Going to be a nice day, isn't it?" Hazel asked, keeping her eyes to the sky. Granted the morning air was littered with hazy grew clouds, but Hazel knew the shine would start to peak out sooner or later. "Bit humid, of course, but who needs a good hair day? It'll be perfect for picking some weeds with the ground all nice and fresh. I've finally got the flower garden back up and I think I can start harvesting them soon. I'll try and sell them, of course. Thinking of getting a chick or two soon. Perhaps a cow, I dunno." Hazel rambled, content she could talk with someone on ranch matters and the like. It wasn't often she could really just go on about work and flowers and live stock without someone trying to change the subject.
"How's your place coming along? Was a rough winters wasn't it? Glad to see such a mild spring coming along. I know you got a cat recently, right? You never did tell me the name..."
OOC: Sorry for such a horrifically slow reply time. D: This week was crazy with work and other events in life I couldn't keep forgetting about. :P |
