date: spring, year one time: late morning tags: ze! With the new year came many changes in Emma's life, including moving in to her first actual home away from her parents. The few years before now she traveled from city to city with goals to gain new talents and broaden knowledge of her two most favored hobbies, but.... she never really felt at home. Part of this reason was because her main focus was on the world around her-- not settling for the dream house. Apartment from apartment, city to city.... it was exciting and she loved it, but Emma always missed Pastora Valley and those that were left behind with it. Upon the new year coming and news of her father returning to the household for the first time in what felt like decades, Emma felt the time came to finally put her travels on hold at least for a few months, so she packed up her bags and came back to the valley with her mind-set on just staying for a good few months....
... but then, the moment Emma saw her parents and best friend-- the three most important people in her life-- in person, her heart warmed and she remembered the feeling of truly belonging and being in the presence of family. The girl had her doubts that returning to her childhood 'memories' would just be awkward but she was proven wrong. The excitement of catching up and reliving the valley days soon took priority over her original plans and before she knew it, Emma and her best friend had the craziest idea of moving in together. Just them two, living how they wished without the stress or worry of what they were going to do with themselves. Living with a male was something Emma would never do, but due to the fact that he'd been a very good friend to her since they were only ten years old, she trusted the boy enough and was comfortable enough around him to overlook that detail. Her parents were supportive as well-- though mostly because it meant having their daughter stay closer to them instead of being out on her own in the big world-- and made the whole idea that was originally just silly dreaming out loud between their daughter and friend into a reality.
Of course, Emma knew very well that her parents were still protective over their only daughter and didn't want to lose her, thus the plan worked perfectly for them. Growing up, Zephyr Wallace was the sweet shy boy that the parents always loved, and it was that very charm that stuck with him still and her parents adored him greatly. Who better than to keep a close eye on her when her parents weren't there to do so? Emma had suspicions what gears were turning in their heads but..... it was such a pleasant dream. One free of troubles and even if it was just temporary, it was an opportunity she couldn't pass up and would leave her with many good stories to remember. Whether or not her parents were being over-protective was outweighed by something greater.
When the day finally came, the house was already furnished for them thanks to Emma's parents, and all she and her friend had to do was head over when the house preparation was complete. She'd never seen the house before then, and neither had her friend, therefor it was all still a mystery. They were given directions to the house and in a way, it was like a treasure map with a great prize waiting for them in the end. Verismo Avenue was a nice neighborhood in the town area, not too busy but not too quiet, and not to mention close to the shopping-- a great deal all around for Emma, who loved taking home bags of new items.
The sky above them was a pale shade of blued swirled with fluffy cloud, the weather a perfect temperature of warmth with a cool breeze. Things were already off to a good start but Emma was.... slightly nervous. Because of the nice weather, she wore a lighter and shorter dress trimmed with lace, small straps over her shoulders, a ribbon tied around her waist-- one of her many dresses bought from the city and Emma wasn't planning on giving up her previous wardrobe for the slower valley-life. No chance! "Isn't today lovely? Must be a good sign!" She softly spoke up with a meek smile, her hands raising up to one of her low ponytails as she ran her fingers through it in a nervous manner. They were passing over the stone bridge above the river water beneath their feet with the sound of the rushing water nearly roaring and on the other side were the many houses. "Are we almost there, Ze? I.... I think we're in Verismo Avenue, now." She asked, not being sure why she felt as nervous as she did, but she just did. Maybe it was because this was her first real home after moving out.... or maybe it was just living with a male, despite it being Ze. She didn't know, but with the way she was playing with her hair and speaking in a quieter voice, it was probably obvious something was weighing heavily on her mind.

Funny how things always manage to sneak up on Ze. Where did his years go when happy-go-lucky kid, even though he still had the happy-go-lucky trait? Where his parents' voices didn't have to be heard over a telephone call or that his sister was a-wall and somewhere in the world? Or the times where he and Emma would go 'adventuring' out in the forest, town and surrounding farmlands? Gosh, it felt like yesterday he was that idiot-boy building sandcastles and use to believe to see harvest sprites fluttering around. But you know what, as much as he felt like those years went by too fast- he wasn't regretting it. And now that he moving in with his best friend, after all these years? Of course he's excited! Some people would of thought- two young, girl and guy moving in with each other and not so much dating or 'together' at all; it was scandalous- but Emma didn't need about him creeping on her or anything that usually what made her parents worry about him doing to the pinkette. He was innocent... well, at least he didn't have those feelings for his best friend- all platonic and beside- her parents were awesome! And was pretty nice for buying the house for them. He really need to start thinking about a way to repay them... The air was sweet with the smell of spring flowers, the sky was beautiful as yesterdays and everything was just... well, prefect. A good omen, if he was superstitious! In his hands was a large, brown moving box and his ukulele poke out from the outside- it was a bit heavy but it was the last of things that he haphazardly packed up. The last things from his little shack of what he called 'home'- well, it wasn't that bad but compare to this new now... well, yeah, you can call it that! "Mmhmm~" He looked a bit devilish more that usually; his brown hair, messier and in its bed-head glory, and he wasn't as well-dressed as Emma, with his slightly crinkled white shirt and dark-green cargo pants with those sneakers. It was obvious he was a still a bit groggy- he hasn't been a wake for than two hours, but he tried best to be alert. Heck- he needs some breakfast too.... Hmm, sleep or eat? Which has more priority? "I'm pretty sure we're here~! It was 1221 right?" He glancing around, trying to seem more alert but.. failing miserably. Ze let out a small yawn, "...Man, I sorta regret packing everything at the last moment. Remind- never again do that, haha." He let out a low, sleepy chuckle.

date: spring, year one time: late morning tags: ze! Her fingers locking around the one tail of pink, silky hair that rested over her shoulder, Emma continued running through the locks as they passed over the bridge, soon reaching the other side where the neighborhood street-ways intertwined in rows. Each row of housing had a certain amount of homes that looked somewhat similar to one another, though each had their own personal touch to make it unique from the others. 1221.... 1221....Emma searched for that number along the front panels of the houses but the numbers were all lower than the one they were looking for. "Yes, that's the place we're looking for." She responded to Ze in thought, turning her head to the left as she continued to check to see if they came to the right place yet.
It was almost like anxiety building up with how long the process took, or at least, how long it felt like it was taking to finally come across the town house. A smile formed over her lips when Ze chuckled, finally looking in his direction and tilting her head. He did look quite tired... that was only expected with waking up earlier in the morning to get everything together as quickly as he could. "Well on the bright side-- we made it! After all these years, look at us! We're fine, grown adults now!" She optimistically said as she gazed up at the clouded sky, her hands dropping from her hair and clasping behind her back instead, "This is our new beginning.... and I'm both excited and nervous for it." Emma didn't want to lie and act as though she was entirely confident in the decision-- it was a huge step, getting their own home and even starting a business. A lot to take in, to say the least, but the feeling that she had about the whole idea was a fuzzy tingling feeling inside her gut that told her that all of this would work out in the end.
"You won't snore too loudly at night, will you?" Emma asked softly as she warmly lowered her gaze to Ze, mildly teasing him since she honestly couldn't remember if he snored or not. Just up ahead, two more houses down was the place they were looking for, but Emma hadn't noticed yet for her focus was more so on Ze at the moment. She felt the giddiness building up the more they walked, and even had a very small skip in her step from it, so chances were that the moment she saw the new house waiting for them to inside, she'd explode with a burst of energy and excitement to rush inside and see every nook and cranny. Hm, been a while since Ze been this part of town- unlike most people who were born or practically raised here lived on Verismo Avenue, the brunette never really lived in or came into this part of town often. He knew his way around town, being a 'native' (well, he been here since he was a baby, so... that counts right?), but he still felt... out of place here. All the houses were so nice and organized, and there was subtle differences, but some of the houses looked too similar to the next one. Buh-humbug- just as long as their house was different, he was happy as pie. Mmhmm, pie. Now that he thought about it, he was hungry as hell. Skipping breakfast so he can pack up the last of his things and tidy up the home he'll never return to, he solely regretting it and wanted to some much smack himself for the stupidity of skipping it. Gosh- he seriously spent the day before doing nothing but run into nice strangers yesterday and stuck around to chat. Well this sucks. Maybe... He caught the end of Em's sentence- and tried to pressed down his guilty frown. "Don't worry Em! Everything gonna turn out gre-" He was cut off by a loud growl of his stomach, which made him blush and coughed into his fist. Readjusted his grip on the box and tried to show it off- and hope the pinkette didn't hear it. God, how embarrassing. Ze nudged Emma, letting a little chuckle, "I'm been told so, yup~! And sleep walk. And sleep talk..." He held a serious face- but come on, this was Ze- but it soon dissolved into giggles, and said "I kid, Em. Nope, I'm not a noisy guy.... when I'm asleep, so don't worry-" He gave a teasing grin, "Ms. Princess won't lose her beauty sleep~!"The messy-haired burnette's grin grew as their steps came closer- this was it! Gosh.. this is just.. where's a camera when you need it? And not to mention, Em was actually skipping? Oh, how cute! He chuckled, but didn't comment- instead asked, "Hey.... Emma, would you mind if we have a little breakfast to celebrate moving in? Pleaseeee~" And a idea struck- "Can we have bacon-pancakes? Oh, I haven't made those in soooo long~!"

date: spring, year one time: late morning tags: ze! At first, Ze responded saying that he may have been a much nosier sleeper during the night than one would hope for or wish to deal with. This wasn't the best news to hear, given that Emma was a lighter sleeper and was often stirred easily from her sleep just open the noise of a door creaking open down the hall or something lightly tapping against the outside of her window. For a brief moment, the girl frowned lightly and gave a pleading gaze in Ze's direction with a hopeful glint in her eyes, before hearing that he was only kidding. The once innocent pleading gaze that she tried pulling off in hopes of convincing Ze to find some kind of remedy-- any remedy-- to cure his noisy sleeping, soon was replaced with an amused gaze as she was lightly nudged in the side by Ze. "You had me worried there at first. I was hoping you wouldn't have to see me when I'm cranky..." She admitted softly and innocently blinking her eyes at his words of 'princess'.
Well, he was right-- she was more of a princess than some other girls.... though, not in a way that would be used in a negative manner. Emma was a feminine woman with higher standards, and she was alright with people recognizing that. If anything she preferred so any random stranger who approached her knew that she wasn't one who liked being treated with lack of respect. Flashing a smile, Emma sped up in her skipping as her hands dropped by her sides and lightly swung back and forth. "Aw, you're too sweet! Prince Ze, you will be a joy to live with in our magnificent castle in this far away kingdom~" She chimed in a teasing voice, her moods being rather lifted just by their simple chit-chatting.
With how loudly Ze's stomach was rumbling, it came to no surprise when the young man asked for them to make breakfast soon-- which, in all honesty, wasn't such a bad idea. Emma herself was feeling a bit hallow-stomached since she'd only consumed a glass of milk and a small blueberry muffin in the earlier part of the morning. That was a few hours ago.... and now that it was almost afternoon, if they were to eat now it'd be considered more of a Brunch. Did they have all the ingredients to make Pancakes? Most likely enough.... and besides, when one was hungry, mostly anything sounded satisfying. A small laugh escaped from Emma, raising one hand over her mouth from the boy's pleas before answering him, "That works well enough.... I believe the kitchen is stocked with enough diary products and flour for it. Knowing how much you love bacon and pancakes, I'd say that's a fine idea!" The day was playing out wonderfully already, and just when Emma was about to skip by the next house, the numbered panel that was perched at the beginning of the pathway in between two squares of green grass was beside her and she managed to sneak a peek at the address before instantly stopping in her steps.
This.... this was it. 1221 Verismo Avenue. Emma reread the number multiple times very quickly in her head before the whimsical grin left her features as her eyes grew wider in shape, curiously staring upon the house that stood just down the pathway. Their very first home, and it was standing right before them. She inhaled deeply as the anticipation grew stronger, and she began to walk down the paved path. "Home sweet home! I have the key to the front door." She called over to Ze, whom was behind her as she got the head start up to the porch steps, the wood creaking a little as her feet climbed up them. To the left of the front side of the house was a large glass window but the curtains were pulled over to block any possibility of seeing through-- only through the ovular glass on the door was one able to see the white staircase through a distorted image. Emma took the golden key into her hand, fixing it inside the lock while fiddling to open it until the unlatching sounded from the other side of the door. "Are you ready?" The girl asked as she looked at Ze, giving him a gentle smile before turning the knob to the door, letting it slowly swing wide open....

He noted her soft chimed- Em always been the quiet type, after all. Well, he wasn't the most outgoing person either, but he was...well, eccentric. She, though, was smart- the brains of the two, Ze likes to dub her, and honestly, if wasn't for her, everything a lot of the things they planned wouldn't come to be. But- he made it his goal. No. Mission, to... well, get rid of the softness to Em. Even though he loved her for it, Ze could admit that with her type of personality, it wouldn't be long until some guys come knocking on their and getting on his knees for her. And like hell he wasn't letting leave out of his site for a good couple of years. He didn't want her leaving the island again... like last tme. "Pft, prince? If we're moving into this house, I demand to be a king. Or one of those jesters dudes- now that's a job." He babbled- of course, his randomness decided to kick in at the moment. He paused, "...Okay, I like really need some food. I'm like not making any since. At all." Ze sighed, "Sorry, heh." Mention of the kitchen- and ingredients, and food in general... well, let's say he's happy- best way to sum it up. He wiggled excitedly, and licked his lips- the thought of pancake. And bacon. Bacon in the pancake. Oh gosh- he could sing.... about it. Heh, this is going to be good He chuckled silently to himself as he follow Emma onto the porch of their house. "Em, if I wasn't ready, would I be here~! Of course I'm ready- the sooner I get this darn box out my hands and some bacon-pancakes into my stomach, the better~!" He gave her an encouraging smile, though on inside, he was planning eue.

date: spring, year one time: late morning tags: ze! notes: so so sorry for taking this long... King Ze.... that almost sounded frightening. Emma's smile broadened as the young man went on, trying to picture him as 'king' of the house.... she couldn't tell if it'd get a little annoying after awhile or manage to make her giggle on a daily basis. Lets face it, Ze had a bright personality that made most people at least give him a smile! It was that charm of his that made the warming-up part much easier. "We'll see how kingly you are once we get to the house." She simply responded, her expression innocent and soft in features, yet a very small hint of a challenging voice that spoke with her words. Maybe if he earned it she'd humor him with the title.... but chances were she'd end up teasing him a lot on the matter. That, and Emma didn't want to really get into who was in charge over what. When that started to happen it was usually when there were more butting-heads in any dynamic.
Ze's enthusiasm brought a warmer cheer to Emma and she closed her eyes before the door swiftly swung open, raising her free hand to cover them. She wanted the inner exterior of the new house to be a complete surprise to her-- she didn't want to see anything until stepping inside. It wasn't necessary but.... with how special and important this day was, signifying the first step of a new future, Emma wanted to cherish every bit of it. "Ohhh, what is it like? Do I want to look?" She asked in worry, slowly stepping through the doorway and onto the smooth-planked flooring. The living room was the first room of the household with clean, white walls and a two-set staircase that stood right before the door. Everything looked very clean and tidy, being in perfect shape as though the house was just waiting for the two young adults to be brought over. Emma's breath quietly shook as she inhaled and soon held onto her last breath, anxiously lowering her hand before slowly opening her eyes....
... to see exactly what she'd hope for. The pink-haired girl blinked her eyes a few times to ensure that what she was saying was, indeed, real. Her thoughts had to catch up with her until her face entirely lit and the immediate burst of excitement was enough to shimmer in her eyes as she gave out an excited squeal. "This is wonderful! Oh my goodness! Look at the staircase-- look at the window, you can see the entire front yard with it!" She giggled, letting the keys drop to the floor as she quickly scampered further into the living room and did a small twirl, "Ze, this couldn't have turned out better! I'm.... I'm so excited! Eeep!~" Balling her hands up and lifting them beside her cheeks, Emma couldn't help herself as she soon rushed right out of the living room and into the next room-- the kitchen, which was just as perfect as the living room looked. There wasn't a catch-- there wasn't one room that was gorgeous but a kitchen that looked old and outdated-- though instead of being all white, there was some blue trimming of the walls.
"EVEN THE KITCHEN IS PERFECT! COME HERE, YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!" Emma shouted from the kitchen, her voice easily carrying through the living room and over to where Ze stood since the two rooms weren't all that far a part from each other. The girl eagerly toured around the middle-counter of the kitchen, hopping a little in her steps, but with all the energy she had and wanting to see every part of the house, Emma didn't stand still long enough for Ze to come in and just when he was about to, the girl came through the doorway and tossed her arms around him. "Yes, yes, yes! I love EVERYTHING so far! Have you seen the rest of the house? We should take a look! I bet all the bedrooms are upstairs." She babbled, talking relatively fast out of the 'adventure' of seeing what the house was like for the first time. Emma was going to catch herself eventually to calm down a little bit but.... given how much time and thought she put into today, one could say that she built everything up in her head to where she reacted far more... giddily. He seriously- seriously- send his regards to Emma's parents. This house... it was too much. Well, it wasn't over-fancy, since Ze always dreaded fancy things- he was a simple guy with simple needs, and beside, he would felt pampered almost if lived in a giant house stuffed to the max with things that were nice but not needed. Though Emma was a girl, and he knew from experience that even though she was nice and considerate, was doted by parents- so she might not seen much Ze's own worries. But those weren't at all apparent now. The house, though larger and nicer looking than his little old shack he was renting out before, had its charmed. And he loved it, no lie. Giving a low, appreciative whistle, he looked around while slipping of his shoes- it was a habit of his and since everything looked so new and white and... dragging his dirty, old pair of shoes through it would be tragedy. Or get him in trouble with Emma for doing so. Same difference, really. He's hunger was forgotten for the time being, and setting his box of miscellaneous things by the door also- he'll return, don't worry- the pinkette's excitement truly was infectious. Picking up the keys after her, Ze took let out a manly giggle chuckle, seeing her twirl. "Let me tell you this- your parents are the best!" He flopped down on one of the couches, grabbing a pillow and sigh happily, " I mean this is- oh Goddess, is this seriously our house?" He could get use to this. Slowing shutting his eyes- maybe he could take a little nap while Emma explore the re- "I'M COMING!" He jumped, throwing both his arms and pillow in the air- and of course, it comes back down, bouncing off his head and onto the floor. The muddy-haired guy scrambled off the couch in his hurry, tripping over his feet in the process- well, this is a reason why you don't rush him. The more pressure, the more clumsier he gets- but at least Emma didn't notice, because he could hear eagerly go on about the house. He paused, turning back once to front door to grab his ukulele before racing over to the kitchen- it wasn't a far distance but he alway had the habit, since being a kid, to slid into the kitchen. And though he's twenty-one, that doesn't mean he had to stop it. Ze grinned, putting a spinning finish to the slide in and chuckle. "Oh my..." He looked around, his eyebrows raised and giving a slight awed look. "This is.. so.. Emma- okay, so before we go exploring the house, what if we break in this kitchen with some pancakes? Please~!" He took a strum of ukulele, grinning. This calls for some persuasion, "Wake up in the morning and one thing on my mindddd~ My stomach starts to rumble- couldn't help if I tried" Jumping on top of the little island, he continued "There so much today, so should start it right~! I need to get some nourishment or else I'm gonna cry..." He gave a small pout and puppy-dog eyes, before dissolving into laughter.
