He was born in a city not to far from Pastora Valley, to a loving mother and father. His early life was a blur of colors and shapes and play-dates with other kids. Before he could really cement himself into the world his parents popped out another kid, which filled his home with crying; his younger brother has always been a nuisance like that. Never did he ever really understand how cramped his little house was, or how hard his parents worked or what the bags under their eyes meant. In fact, he doesn't really remember much about his early childhood. Not because of anything traumatic, but just because all of the days seemed to run together into one long, fuzzy chain. One thing that Emilio has always remembered well, and cherished, are the moments he's shared with his Grandfather. A wizened old man who was still full of energy, in the summer little Emilio would be shipped off to Pastora Valley to spend time with the aging man. He ran the Local Inn, and though it seemed to be falling on hard times, it never showed when the boy was around. Each summer was spent with the old man, exploring every nook and cranny of the building and chasing grasshoppers in the fields. Summer time became a sort of escape for him, and he loved his Grandfather more than anyone. This was brought on by a sort of jealously for his younger brother. The younger boy had always been kind of a wimp, and needed to be doted on almost constantly by his parents. At school, as well, Emilio would take on the Protective Role: when his brother was being bullied, it was here that he had to grow some sort of background and take lumps for him. It didn't help matters that the boy was a natural with a paintbrush, and Emilio was always compared to 'what talent' he had. This was only made worse by the fact that it seemed Emilio was only good at getting into trouble for his 'bad attitude'. It was only his Grandpa that ever seemed to understand. With him he didn't have to worry about his growing irritation with those around him; about how he felt inferior to his younger brother; even about how he was both bullied about and questioning his own sexuality. When he was in Pastora, these were things that didn't matter. It would be only natural that when the old man passed away one night that Emilio was devastated. The town had lost it's charm. It was now just a place filled with bittersweet memories. It was quite a surprise, though, that Emilio be given the Inn. In fact, it was by sheer luck that the building that had gone unattended for since his Grandfather's passing even still be standing. When contractors moved in to tear the place down once and for all, it was discovered both the Deed to the Land and a Will, which said the property be turned over to the young man. Not having had any plans for college after school, and generally just laying around the house and being a strain on his parent's funds, he was just as shocked as any when he found himself being thrust into owning a business. Since he has not lived in Pastora that long, he has really only managed to get the Inn in the most basic of working shape again.
