[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:370px, bTable] you could love me if i knew how to lie | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width:270px, bTable] It was a horrible time of day; too late to steal another hour in bed, too early for dinner and definitely too soon to be spotted in the tavern. It was early afternoon and Alex was finding ways to kill time. Having only been hanging around the town for a couple of days or so, the young man hadn't yet had the opportunity to introduce himself to many of the townspeople; something which was both unacceptable and an absolute shame. He was accustomed to being almost always in the company of some sort of friend or acquaintance... going from gossipy garden-boy to the stranger with the long hair was proving to be quite a shock to his system. It was weird not knowing anyone. And how Alex loathed it.
So instead of lounging idly around his unopened store, Alex opted to do something - anything - about this horrifying lack of social interaction he was suffering and headed outside. He had no real destination set so once his feet began walking they didn't seem to stop. He dawdled and wandered; choosing directions on a whim. Rather dangerous considering how new he was in the town yet the possibility of getting lost wasn't one that worried him too greatly. It wouldn't be the first time he'd gotten himself lost for the hell of it. As he ambled, carefree, Alex didn't really see anyone or anything that piqued his interest. And, soon, he was seriously reconsidering if going out for this stupid walk had even been a good idea in the first place.
By the time Alex was following a quiet, country road to wherever it wanted to take him, he was less than impressed. His shoes, dark in colour and shined, weren't cut out for long strolls such as this one and his feet were beginning to chide him in the form of aching heels and toes. How long had he even been walking for? Alex wasn't too sure to be completely honest. Bringing a slender hand up to his forehead to shield his jade eyes from the watery glare of the sun, he guessed that he'd been on his failed mission for arounnnnd... an hour? Maybe more? Ugh. Whatever. He was nearly at the forest so there wasn't really any point in turning back now, was there?
From what Alex could make out, the woodland was dense and would make an impressive sight come autumn. But, right now, it wasn't too striking... the woods seemed to be in the process of recovering after the long, harsh season of winter. Some trees were still bare - almost dead looking - whereas others were sprouting healthy buds on their boughs and branches. In amongst the blend of waking and dormant trees were a few bursts of green evergreens and pink cherry blossoms. Hmm... fine. There was a certain beauty to be found in a forest stirring back into life.
Alex figured that, y'know, while he was here, he could always seek out a couple of wildflowers to press or something. Actually, yeah. He'd do that. With a faint smile curling the corners of his lips, he decided that he'd even settle for some cowslip, wild geraniums or even some cutesy violets. Sure, his feet might be cursing his "brilliant" ideas but, like, this fucking tiring little walk didn't have to be for naught. Standing there, precariously, on where the rarely traversed road and edge of the forest came into contact, Alex fumbled mindlessly with his blonde braid, threading and weaving it through his hands. He wouldn't go in too far... losing his bearings in the town was one thing but the forest? That was a totally different story.

[/right] Really, did Ze have nothing better to do? As if both mind and body agreed against him, and so he left the job of packing up the last of his belonging- or tossing out. You would be surprise how much junk that accumulated in small, one-bedroom house. He'll swear to anything that he wasn't a pack-rat, but the odds and ends that wound up finding beneath everything- old letters, bills that nearly cost him the house, little knickknacks he picks up from the festivals in town; seashells, some old cds, and old ukulele- it was rather funny if it wasn't for the fact he had to deal with it. But he digressed. Anyways, after deciding today- the day before he officially moved from what some would call his bachelor-shack -to his new house with Emma. It was a prefect time to procrastinate, eh? And that he did! There was time to relax before he had to rush, so it was prefect. Beautiful day, indeed. The skies was bluest of blues, the clouds looked fluffy and white, as if from a perfectly drawn by some higher being, and Ze just felt... warm. It wasn't too hot, not too wet, not too cold- a sign of spring! While he loved summer, spring was always the nicest out of all the season in his opinion. It was partly the reason he was tromping through the forest without any destination in his mind- maybe its a beach day? Yeah, playing at the beach could be fun! Or maybe he'll stop by the shrine, leave some respects like his parents taught to, pray that his business won't crash and burn.... Negative thoughts, GO AWAY! Ze breathed in, adjusting his ukulele in his hands, and taking a bit of experimental strum of notes, trying to find the right, preppy beat. " Come along with me..~" He said softly, but the wind still carried his voice, " To a town beside the sea. We can wander through the forest~! And do so as we please..." Hmm, this song was familiar- must been something his sister shown him, but continued nonetheless, as he started to play a bit faster and raised his voice a bit louder, " Come along with me~" He sang, closing his eyes- which was stupid move while tromping through the forest... then again, this was Ze here- " To a cliff under a tree... we'll graze upon the water; as an everlasting dream~"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:370px, bTable] you could love me if i knew how to lie | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width:270px, bTable] Alex probably looked like an idiot just stood there on the edge of the forest, staring unblinkingly into it as he debated – inwardly – if this was one of those dimmer ideas he tended to have at times. After a full five minutes of arguing with himself over whether or not to be daring and venture into just the outskirts of the woods the vast unknown! Or… be a feathery, clucky chicken and strut back home, squawking and making whatever babbly noises chickens made.
The mental image of a poultry version of himself with straw coloured feathers and bright green eyes was all the convincing Alex had needed to say “fuck it”. He was no chicken! No siree! Plus it wouldn’t be too big of a deal if he wandered astray because the road was on the west side – or was that the southeast – side of the woods. And! The sun set in theeeeee… east, right? Right. Was East on the left or right side? And how did that acronym thingy go again… Never Eat Soggy Waffles? Or Never Wear Silly Ears? Oh god. What was he even doing now? He was just getting himself more confused!
Ahhh! And he was walking already! Alex blinked his eyes and glanced around, slightly bewildered for a moment, before lowering his gaze to the ground to scour for smidgens of colourful flowers littering on the forest floor. He’d get a couple of pretty ones and then hopefully retrace his steps back to the road and in one piece.
Alex walked slower now and at a much more relaxed pace, stooping occasionally to pluck a merry blossom winking in his direction. Buttercups, daisies and a couple of bluebells so far. He was holding out to find a cluster of cheery, wild daffodils yet… he knew not to get his hopes up too high. Alex wasn’t even sure if those things grew wild around these parts. Back by his old home they did but, like, this wasn’t his old home anymore. So many things were different compared to back there. The people were different, the scenery wasn’t the same, and even the scents that imbued the air were unalike. But it was a welcome change which Alex embraced in his stride.
Crouched down by a small gathering of wild geraniums that looked as though they were in fine fettle, Alex heard… music playing faintly? How odd. His slender eyebrows knitted themselves together and, cautiously, he moved out of his slumped, flower-examining squat and into a balanced and alert crouch to listen more intently. And… nope. He wasn’t hearing things thankfully. There was actual music playing somewhere! But music? In the forest? How weird. Alex’s curiosity was awakened almost immediately and, leaving behind the geraniums, he sauntered off at a brisk pace to see where the musical sounds were originating from.
The closer he drew, the easier it was to distinguish the trill sound of a ukulele accompanied by a voice. A male’s voice. And, nngh, it sounded pretty good too! This voice needed a face. It probably had a beautiful face to suit it. Ugh, yes, please let it be a pretty face because, like, then this hike into the forest really would’ve been worth it. Or hey! What if it was a sprite or something? Alex had never seen one himself but… they filled all those fairytales he got read as a child. So who knew?
And finally – finally – Alex reached the last line of trees and shrubbery that separated him from whoever was singing and playing. He saw a whisp of brown hair, the fair hue of someone’s skin, a flash of colour from their clothes… god they were just a meter or so away now and Alex’s curiosity was peaking.
“Found you!” Alex called out, triumphant, bursting from the bushes and planting himself slap-bang in front of… wow, a very cute guy! The young man beamed brightly, unaware that this probably wasn’t the best way to present himself to someone in the middle of the forest, following them, sneaking up on them and then jumping out from the foliage. “I could hear you. You play well!”

[/right] As he sung the song, his voice happy and cheerful as the song was- it was suppose to be a happy one afterall, but it also felt a bit bittersweet? While Ze loved his sister to bits, when he was young, had the habit of clinging to her side; but this meant... he felt lonely now that she was gone. Sure, he had his friends that he sees now and again, and new people where coming to town, and who can't forget that he was moving into a house with the best-friend he had since he was... well, young! But like he said, bittersweet because his sister was wherever in the world, and he didn't know where; while some, that'll make them anxious and worry- for Ze, it was kinda like hell, since he was still attached to her. Though, if he admit this, he'll probably be bopped on the head for acting so- in her words- 'a baby'. Hmph. Being worried and scared for another did not mean you're a baby! ....Right? Anyways, he still remember the song mostly because it was the one his sister, Ashe, use to sing to him alot. It was silly, but brunette had to admit- the world was a scary place when he was young. She use-to used this song, among many other ways to coaxes him out of the house, to... well, come along with her! They're little adventures and all, everything, could really be summed by this. But it was sappy- and you won't hear either them admitting it, but it was true as funny. It was funny how his memories seem to come and go at times; while his fingers graced the instruments strings, the notes strong and bright, and he started to sway his head as he timed the right strums to his voice, but... " All of my affection. . .~ I give 'em all to you... Hmmm..." He kept the tempo going, but as soon as the idea to start singing came to him, so did the words escape him, slipping back and probably be awhile before they rear their head again. It wasn't like he forgotten it- and maybe something would bring it back, but for now, his voice died down and the music-- What was that? Abrupting stopping his fingers, and the music died, his eyelids flying open, revealing his emerald green eyes and you could see the surprise to see the blond guy in front of her. ....Well this was awkward? To be honest, he wasn't expecting anyone to be marching around the forest other than him, or maybe some child skipping school, and knew his way around or some gramps and grandmas. But not an unfamiliar blond. He was pretty sure he seen alot of the residence of the valley, but... well, yeah. "Um... yes, you did!" He chuckled awkwardly, covering his mouth with the back of his hand so the guy wouldn't see his surprise frown- not that he was disappointed. He would rather have a surprise smile, but atlas, default comes as default, eh? "O-oh, thank you! That's means alot, coming from a stranger!" He said bashfully, but fully appreciating the compliment with a toothy smile, and his cheeks warmed a bit. Ze felt a bit more comfortable, and laughed a bit more, "Ahaha, well it isn't everyday I get to meet someone out here in this time and day! Hello there, the names Ze! Zephyr if you wanna be fancy." He shrugged, and readjusted his grip on the instrument in his name, "Don't believe I seen you before~"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:370px, bTable] you could love me if i knew how to lie | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width:270px, bTable] Awww. Cute, cute, cute. Alex couldn't help but notice that the guy had a little blush beating about his cheeks! The second thing he noticed about the pinkening man was that he had some really nice eyes. Jade ones, like his own. Musically talented and a looker. Lady luck was definitely dancing in his favour this afternoon. “Zephyr, huh?” Alex repeated, eyeing the new person with interest. “Interesting name. I like it!” And he liked the look of that ukulele too! It was so small and cute... it was like a tiny guitar! Intrigued, Alex peered closer at it with a thoughtful "hmm" noise. It'd been a while since he'd last seen one of these, let alone someone who played this cute, little thing. Clutching the wild flowers he'd plucked in one hand, he strummed the four strings with his other hand gently and chuckled on hearing the trill sound of the strings singing.
“I'm Alexander Jay. Or just Alex, Jay, or even Jaybird. I don't know. You can call me whatever you like.” He chimed with a playful wink. “And, yes, you haven't seen me... I think I would've remembered a lovely face like yours.” Alex never forgot a face. It was names he had trouble remembering so, most of the time, people ended up being "that blue-eyed kid with the nice hair" or "the one that wears those pants that makes me just wanna... nnngh" or things like that. Jay brought his attention away from the instrument and back to Zephyr. With a jerk of his head, he flicked away his heavy, golden bangs that were annoyingly flopping over his eyes and smiled once again at the muddy-haired guy.
“I play a bit too, y'know. Not that little uku-thing but, like, y'know, guitar. I play guitar. I have an acoustic back at my shop. His shoulders bounced in a shrug and he glanced down at the flowers in his hand. They'd probably need water or something soon before they began to wilt. Alex liked to press them while they were still fresh because when they started to die... it wasn't as nice. It just wasn't. Out of the blue, Alex's gaze snapped back up to Zephyr and away from the blossoms. He was grinning again and his hand reached out to curl around Ze's upper arm. “Oh! My shop! You must come and see sometime. It's new and just opened and smells divine and you should just come see. Unless,” Alex trailed off slightly and narrowed his eyes. “You're not allergic to flowers or anything, are you? Because that would be terrible.”

[/right] The first thing, right-off the bat, Ze noted the... well looks! N-not that he was checking him out, you perverts; the guy.. or girl's (the man's looks were also very effeminate- don't blame for being a wary what gender to tag him!) bright blond hair, equally bright eyes- almost the same shade as his own!- the stranger just seemed to have the aura that sorta draws him in. Plus he was also very curious to why this guy out walking the forest... with a handful of flowers? Hmm, very unusual in Ze's case, since it was first time he came across a full-grown adult picking flowers! 'Specially one's that manage to quietly able sneak up on him. Not that was hard- but still! To be honest, Ze never did like how his name sounded on another tongue- it was just... it didn't suite him, you can guess? Sounded something a fancy person,- and Ze was essentially far from being fancy- so he went with the nickname coined by his sister, Ze. Easy and simple. Just like him! But he took the compliment nonetheless, "Haha, thank you Mister! Though, seriously- Ze works fine! Zephyr feels sorta like a mouthful to me!" He chuckled again. Instinctively, he took another strum of his little instrument- his fingers where quick and precise with ease. Took years of practice but at least he able to play decently without breaking of the strings like when he was younger! If the brunette was proud of one thing, it was with old little thing. "Nice to meet'cha Alex, then! Haha, you don't mind if I call you that~" He's smile at the small flirt, and his cheeks, once again, dark a bit with a blush. Man- he bet even his ears were a bit red; it wasn't like it was the first time he been flirted with, just... um. Okay, he was a bit nervous when it came to it- don't judge! He never been good at the flirt game is all. Really, his answer was a small mumble of "Thank you.. I think." and bow of the head to hide the embarrassing blush-face he had on. But thankfully, the man switch the subject into that was more within his reach! "Guitar... hmm, my sister a fan of that! Haha, I sorta know the basics but you know... more use to this tiny thing~" He grinned, playing another note as his previously blush started to die down a bit, "And its Ukulele." He said politely, chuckling at the man's hair flip. Cool that he had long hair- Ze was never a big fan of having it himself but still, he liked the way it suited people alot! Hmm, I wonder what I look with a bit longer hair? Silly maybe- oh my, what if I got a little rat-tail or something? That would be so cool! Wha- Oh, poor Ze- he wasn't expecting the man to sorta... well grab his arm! Not that it hurt- just startled the poor lad, which was obvious from the small jump he made. "Oh, you do? Of course I will! Haha," He said before he caught himself- wait, did the guy run a flower shop? He wasn't as interested in flowers as Alex's guitar but still, flowers were pretty! 'Specially Red Carnations~! Or any bright flowers in general! "And nope! You run a flower shop, is it? Cool! Actually- I'm opening up a cafe myself with a friend of mines!"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:370px, bTable] you could love me if i knew how to lie | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width:270px, bTable] While Ze was an adorable nickname, Zephyr still had something to it that Alex liked. Maybe It was the “r” at the end. Hmm. You could purr that “r” like a Spanish person and you’d get a seductive-sounding name like that. “Zephyrrr.” Alex tested the name again and how it felt on his tongue, or what it tasted like if you wanted to make it sound creepy. Alex’s lips straightened into a satisfied line and he nodded. Zephyr was a lovely name and Alex had a feeling that he’d just developed a soft spot for all names ending in the provocative letter “r”. Jay turned his focus back on the owner of one of his newly found favourite names and, aww, his cheeks were stained crimson again. Alex just wanted to pinch them. Pinch, pinch, pinch.
“Psht. I knew it was called… ukulele.” Alex flapped his hand in a dismissive manner. He’d just momentarily forgotten. He’d had, like, a brain burp, or brain fart, or whatever people called those “derp moments” or blonde moments. The golden-haired man loosened his grip on Ze’s arm but, instead of pulling his hand away, he kind of just… hooked his wrist on it, linking their arms together in a way. It was comfortable? And, like, personal space was overrated. Whoever had “personal space” was really a conceited person that didn’t enjoy the company of others. Others meaning definitely Alex.
“Yes! A flower shop! It’s called Ikebana, y’know, after the Japanese art of flower arrangement. It’s my favourite.” Alex gushed, not really making any move to unhook his arm or anything. “After pressing flowers, it’s one of my favourite things to—wait?! You’re opening a café? Oh! Oh! Oh! That means you’ll have coffee right? Good coffee? Because the coffee I have tastes like… ground rabbit poo.” To be truthful, Alex wasn’t sure if he’d even had a single passable brew ever since he’d arrived to this village. The mornings seemed drabber and more irritatingly than they had to be just because he wasn’t getting an acceptable caffeine intake in the mornings. Alex’s sunny mood was non-existent if he didn’t get his coffee. Instead he was this… tempestuous man with a bitchy snap to everything he said.
“I bet rabbit poo doesn’t taste nice at all.” Alex mused out loud, lipping the petal of a violet he’d plucked before. “So you’ll have coffee. And treats right? I love sweet things. I love apple pie and ice-cream and strawberry doughnuts and chocolate cake. Warm chocolate cake. That’s really spongy and soft.” Mmmm… narrowing his eyes, he savoured the imaginary taste of a delicious and moist mouthful of chocolate cake. Nyeeeeh. He wanted some of that now.

[/right] ... What did Alex just do to his name? That sound... well, he was sure that was his name, by the sound of it, but... the accent on the 'r' made it sound totally different. And he wasn't sure if he liked it or not- he would of squirmed, but that would probably seemed weird, so he did his best not to notice how Alex decided say it. He settle with an glanced away with a bite of the lip, feeling a bit bashful, and instead, played another note on his ukulele than answering the guy. Hmm... well, he can at least say that this guy reminded him a bit of his sister. Starch that, He thought, seeing the guy waved off the fact Ze corrected him, He's a lot like Ashe... hm, if his eyes were blue instead of green, they'd probably be twins... I hope they don't met. But seriously- there was an inkling that if the two would meet... well, let's just say he wasn't thrill of the thought- as much as he love his sister, she was... well, his sister. And well... just no. "Mmmhmm, oh- sure you did..." He gave a teasing smile, before pausing and pursing his lips in thought, "Have you ever played with it before? You can hold if you like~" He offered the small instrument with a shied yet eager smile- the Latin boy was always so eager when it came to sharing his 'dear' little ukulele... let's leave it at that. He gave a small chuckle, "Well, I can assure our coffee is good- it wouldn't be a Cafe without it being good, hmm~" He hummed in thought, "So you sell flowers? Seeds too? I got a friend that's interested in gardening, so maybe I could tell her about it!" He tried to keep a polite smile, but... the guy was sorta invading his personal space- Ze wasn't that uncomfortable or unfamiliar with it. But then again, he never really came across such a person that would outright do it, no qualms that he was a stranger or not. The brunette didn't make a move though. Why...? Well, he didn't have to answer that! No, the truth was that he felt it would of been rude to so... "Mmhmm, yes we got chocolate cake! And all sorts of sweets and pastries ~! I sometimes handle the baking of them, sometimes Emma... you should stop sometime!"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:370px, bTable] little deaths in musical beds | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width:270px, bTable] Aww. For some reason Zephyr didn’t sound too convinced that Alex did actually know what that thing was called if that teasing smirk and tone of voice was anything to go by. Alex might’ve pouted slightly in response hadn’t Ze offered up the instrument so he could have a go. “I’ve never really played with one of these before…” Alex murmured, lifting his eyes up to meet Ze’s olive ones before adding: “I’ll be careful though… don’t worry.” Hm. Now that he thought about it, if what he’d said been taken out of context it could’ve sounded rather odd. Alex began to chuckle quietly. “And gentle.” Cue another immature snicker. Jay shook his head at no one but himself and slipped the tiny bouquet of wild flowers he’d gathered into Zephyr’s breast pocket for safe-keeping. He didn’t want them going into his pocket because, like, he didn’t want possible flower juices staining his unblemished blouse.
Slinking his hand out of their linked arms, Alex reached up to take the ukulele from Zephyr. The young man he’d snuck up on before seemed to blush with extreme ease and… would it be mean for him to want to see if he could entice another one out? No. Of course not. It wasn’t “mean”. It was fun. When Alex went to pry the instrument from Ze’s grasp, he just made sure that when his fingers brush against his hands that they lingered for perhaps a moment or two too long. Just to hint at that such gentle and possibly accidental contact had maybe been slightly intentional. It was a silly action that might not even be noticed at all but, still, it was entertaining to do.
“Thank youuu.” Alex chimed, wrapping his slender fingers around the neck of the light instrument and his other hand cupping its body; he didn’t want to risk letting it drop. The ukulele might not weigh a lot but Jay wasn’t going to run his chances of allowing it to fall to the ground. Most instruments weren’t hardy objects and he didn’t fancy finding out first-hand if an ukulele would survive a freefall of approximately four feet. “I’ll be in the café for coffee forever in the morning then.” Gosh, a proper coffee. He couldn’t wait. “And yep. Flowers, seeds, perfumes, bouquets… I have it all~.” His fingers brushed the four open strings and let them ring out. He didn’t have the faintest idea on how to play this thing. He knew a myriad of chords on the acoustic back in his store but, like, this was different, even if it did just look like a miniature guitar with four strings instead of the habitual six he was accustomed to. Alex peered down at the small fretboard and pushed the pads of his fingertips, calloused from playing, down on the strings experimentally. What he was expecting, he didn’t know. Maybe for some sort of divine intervention that’d snitch all the chords to him. Fat chance that was ever going to happen.
“Hey Ze…” Another tentative strum. “What are you even doing out and about in the forest? You weren’t, like, on your way somewhere, were you? Because… if I’m holding you up or something…” Alex trailed off and he peered up at Ze, waiting for an answer. It may be strange for a man to be picking flowers in the forest alone but what was stranger still was a random man marching through the forest, playing ukulele and singing to no one but the forest and himself.

Time/Date: Afternoon, Spring Y1||Notes: Le virgin |D||Words: 548||Music/Lyrics used in this post: Song sung during post! [/size]
[/right] Obviously, as the virgin Ze was, he didn't get what was funny- was it something he said...? Ze tilted his head, but in the back of his mind, there was a feeling to not question what the blond meant by chuckles and... well, the word 'gentle'. Best not to think too deeply... The brunette thought, giving uncertain chuckle. He's smile falter a bit, nonetheless, in suspicion- but quickly returned it to it cheery glory when Alex placed those flowers he were picking into his pocket, and wiped away any puzzlement on his face. "Mmhmm, I would of been more surprise if you did, to be honest~!" He paused, his eyes giving the man a once over, "You seem like the type to play with this small thing... Not-t that's a bad thing. Just guitars.. they're, um, bigger, so.." The reason of the stammer, of course, was Alex. Was he imagining that those gentle hands'- man, the blond wasn't kidding about being so, was he?- touched, lingered a bit longer that needed? Ze bit his lip, and in his mind, this stranger- well, Alex... he was getting the feeling that he was purposely doing things to make him blush so. N-not that he.. well... Damn it, he hasn't been in the game for long- to be honest, he was more-of a social guy, the more 'everybodys' friend' guy... codename, meaning he was Friendzone'd way more often and half the time he doesn't realized, when with girls. And with guys- well, he admit to having a few crushes here and there, but in his teen years, there wasn't much pursuing of the same-sex as much as the opposite. Wow this is sad. "Y-yeah, deal!" The brunette said halfheartedly, his eyes glanced at the way Jay held it- just... Carefully, he lifted the blond's hand from playing the same note again- "Sorry, but you wanna hold it like..." He fixing the way he held, before rearranging the blond's calloused fingers to press against correctly- well, at least a easy note to play. "Try it now!" He chirped happily, feeling a bit proud for correcting the blond- not that he was being... well, mean or anything! He was more use to being corrected than correcting, so Ze was a bit too happy. Not obviously, but then again, Alex didn't know what was going on his mind. His lips curled into a rather innocent smile, glancing up, "Hmm? Oh, why I'm out... here..." Oh yeah. Tromping around the forest at this time and day was kinda odd- especially when he didn't have an excuse to why. Well, he did but how unimpressive was procrastination? The muddy hair man opened his mouth, before shutting it, cupping his chin with one hand while supporting his elbow with the other. "Uh... um, well funny story about that! I was... heading to the beach? " Good enough answer. "And nono, I'm not in any rush really- I'm going on a sorta whim. I go up there to think, and since no one I knew was around to hang-out, so I decided 'why the hell not?'! Heh."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:370px, bTable] little deaths in musical beds | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width:270px, bTable] It might of only been his mind imagining or exaggerating things but Alex couldn’t help but spot how Ze’s face brightened notably when he’d slid the flimsy stems of the wild flowers into his pocket. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to just, like, leave them there in the case that the other man had thought they had been a gift or something. There were a lot of flowers in the forest so… Ze could have those ones, he supposed. He’d get some fresher ones on his way home maybe.
“Hold it like…?” Alex asked slowly, tilting his head a fraction as Ze moved his fingers across frets and onto strings. Well. At least his lingering touches hadn’t spooked the guy off; this was even good that he was returning it, right? Alex took advantage of their closeness to get a keener look at Zephyr; while he seemed immersed in correcting his fingering, Alex looked at him. Ze had a youthful face on him outlined by a mop of tousled, chocolate brown hair which Alex was kind of tempted to card his fingers through and try to comb and neaten in some way. His eyes were, so far, his best feature; they were a hue of green beryl that he found very appealing, even if his own eyes were a similar shade of green.
Alex hastily snapped his roaming gaze back down to the ukulele, a subtle smile curving his lips, when Zephyr finished and glanced back up at him. He seemed like a really sweet guy, innocent too and easily reddened in the cheeks. Brushing his fingertips lightly over the strings pulled taut over the soundhole, the resulting strum sounded much more on key than before. The blond florist hummed his liking for the nicer sounding chord and looked for a space on the ground to settle himself down on. His feet weren’t going to let him forget his long walk from just before; they ached and demanded to be rested.
“Beach? Oh, I haven’t been there yet.” Alex mused out loud, propping himself up against the coarse trunk of a thick tree and just getting himself comfortable in general; shifting about with a soft rustling of his clothes. He patted the ground beside him as an invitation for Zephyr to sit and join him. “I’m more of a forest person anyway… the salt and sand in my hair just… ugh. Hate it.” And there was probably also the fact that he couldn’t swim and his overall aversion to large bodies of water. His old town was far inland and away from any lakes, there was a small river that meandered through the area but it was shallow and only really good for paddling on hot days if anything. Alex wasn’t exactly scared of water though. It was getting out of his depth and sinking that unnerved him.
“You lived here long, Ze? Like, in this town?” Alex inquired and stretched his legs out leisurely, his toes wriggling about in his shoes. He plucked idly at random strings on the small instrument, not really giving it a lot of concern seeing how his eyes were fixed on Zephyr once again with interest. “Know a lot of people?”

[/right] It always stuck Ze how odd, though, that despite going to the beach was a pastime for him, he was petrified by the idea of being in the water. He never went near- he enjoyed it just fine from the whatever many feet he sat from it. Its stupid, really, but in all honesty the waters was beautiful and sounds of the beach... and, maybe this sounded like he was way in tuned with feminine romance side of things, there was something magical about it. Beside- no one expects fine a hydrophobe at the beach, there was always sweet irony in that! The muddy haired man paused- as well as an idiot he was, he was still wary nonetheless. He never did seen this stranger beforehand... well, Alex now, since they exchanged names. Maybe he wasn't so much as in wary as to curious? He indeed remember the inflow many new arrivals- or returnees, in Em's and a few other cases. But he haven't met much, too be honest. Well, ain't today's the day to change, hm? "Mmhmm, well.. I like it since its usually quiet at the beginning of Spring and all- great place to stargazing, another thing i sorta like to do~!" He accepted the invitation to sit down with a beam of a smile, "Heh, well that's a shame. But understandable- hair like that must be a.... " He gave a small chuckle- or if you're a person who teased it to be a giggle- and raised his hand to... well, he was curious if it was as soft to touch as it looked. But he then dropped, realizing weird it must of looked- he just met guy.... well, then again, Alex already tried flirting with him (which he wasn't even close enough to reciprocate) "Your hair is pretty nice looking- it must be a hassle to take care of..." He brushed away some of his messy, dark hair self-consciously, feeling embarrassed about his own- there were times when he tried brushing and making it look neat and tidied... apparently his hair preferred the rolled-out of bed type look. Ze leaned against the tree, now taking the flowers that the blond given him and taking a small sniff- he always did like Spring and its flowers. A cool breeze blew through, rustling the trees and the smell.. fresh air in the forest was always sweeten by flowers- such as the one in his hand; he took a deep breath and his slid shut for a second. Just the world saying 'No, stahp making yourself neat-looking', the hair he hadn't even brushed away a second ago, was moved back into its previous messiness. He sighed- not even worth it... "Oh... actually, yes I do! Lived in Pastora Town almost all my life!" Ze noted his interested gaze, "My fair share- most of my friends moved away or I don't keep I touch, but I think I know most of the locals. Hm- I'm guessing your from out-of-town? How you liking the Pastora?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:370px, bTable] little deaths in musical beds | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width:270px, bTable] Alex had to agree with Zephyr on that one: stargazing really was something enjoyable. There were some nights, when he couldn’t sleep or was shaken awake by memories, that he’d take his blankets up to the conservatory on the top floor and make a nest in a corner of the floor with some cushions. He’d lie there with a dim light on, staring up into the sky before he drifted off; lulled to sleep by the calming sight and heady, sweet scent of the flowers he grew. Alex might not mind sharing his bed with people he barely knew but it was moments like those which he kept solely for himself and his own enjoyment… asdfghjklñ, so corny. No one could know about his quiet time. Ever. “Yeah, heh, stargazing’s nice.” He agreed, smiling at the man as he sat down beside him. They were close, their legs almost touching. If Alex moved the slightest bit, he could easily have their thighs brush together accidentally-on-purpose.
“You can actually touch it if you want. I don’t mind. I like it.” He sighed, spotting the hand that’d hesitantly drawn closer to his messy braid before being pulled back. Having his hair petted was just… soothing and oddly pleasurable. He was a bit like a cat in that way. “Thanks,” Alex flushed, drinking the compliment. “It takes a lot to keep it like this but… it’s worth it.” Definitely worth it seeing as was like a line for fishing for compliments and pettings. Alex found the end of his plait and fiddled with the small, thin ribbon used to tie the end. Smiling to himself, he undid it and began to unbraid his long, fair locks with his careful fingers, doing it in a deliberate fashion that he was hoping would encourage Ze to touch it.
“Almost all of your life? How old are you anyway?” Nice, casual way of getting his age out, pretty smooth if Alex did say so himself. “Yeah… I’m not a townie from here.” But Ze wasn’t getting whereabouts his came from though. That part of his past was in the past and it was staying there, where it belonged. “Just moved but, yeah, I like it here. It’s nice. And surprisingly with a lot of cute and hot guys. Anyone you think I should meet in particular?” Alex hadn’t actually expected there to be so many young and obtainable men here in Pastora, he’d expected only a couple and for the rest to be ageing or old men. Not that he was saying he wouldn’t be interested in a man older than he was. Believe it or not some guys were still pretty handsome looking in their forties.

[/right] He felt strangely... deja vu-ish now. Not in a bad way- earlier, he felt all sappy and bittersweet and all that jazz- but now he felt weird. A weird weird, if that makes sense? Really, Ze had no regrets with his little exploration today. Sure... he's procrastinating and that's a deadly- stupid mistake to do, especially before a move. If his sister was... Oh. That's where the feeling was coming from. Ze felt annoyed now- well, that was random, seriously. Sure, Alex did remind a bit- only a bit. He had that teasing aura, and really, the ukulele-player felt the tiniest nervousness at the pit of his stomach. Or that could be hunger. He tried not to notice how their legs almost touched, he wasn't any chick to freak out about it, so he directed his attention to touching the blond's hair. His pressed his palm against the soft, blond locks, biting his bottom lip as he started petting. "Mmhmmm, it is soft as it looks..." he murmured absent-mindedly, half-tempted to run his fingers- but atlas, Ze lost the nerve, and dropped his hand, his cheeks automatically warmed. Of course- it was default if Ze did anything intimate... well, what he deemed intimate with a stranger. Sure, he had a bit fixation with playing with other people hair... not on a creepy level, but if your a good friend of his, its hard for him to sit still and not to. "Uh..umm..." He lowered his green eyes, glancing around before landing on the ukulele in Alex's hands still. Maybe music can distract? But first he had to ask it back without seeming rude. "Oh.. yeah, been living here all my life. I'm 21..." He pauses, and blinks, tilting his head, "Not to sound rude, but why does that concern you my age...?" It wasn't like he didn't like sharing his age- it wasn't anything like that. Just... curious- how old was Alex himself? But that was quickly forgotten, as he flustered over what was said. "...N-no, not really. I mean... I might know some guys, but.. um.." He stammered, shifting in his seat and scooted the slightest bit away from him, "Well, I mean... I'm sure you can find s-someone out in town... opposed to walking in the forest...."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:370px, bTable] little deaths in musical beds | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width:270px, bTable] It was probably a bit of a strange thing to say but somehow Zephyr’s hands hadn’t surprised him – they were gentle and almost innocent the way that they fondled his hair, something that Alex had been expecting. He purred encouragingly in the pit of his throat and leaned just the slightest bit into the touch. He just enjoyed little touches like those, more than he probably should, seeing as such things were pretty rare for him. But, alas, sooner than Alex would’ve liked, Ze shied away for reason. It was perhaps a bit odd, now that he thought of it, for someone to toy with an almost stranger’s hair. It didn’t make Alex any less disappointed though.
“Twenty-one…” Alex repeated, leaning back against the tree, feeling the coarseness of the bark scratch against his clothes. Twenty-one was a nice age, Alex thought, considering that that was his age also. But, god, they were the same age yet they seemed so different already. Zephyr was coming off as this pure, innocent, sweet person whereas Alex was tempted to push for intimacy. Already. “I was just curious,” He added on with a nonchalant bounce of his shoulders. “You’re the same age as me, y’know.”
When Ze increased the distance between them Alex couldn’t help but feel a touch confused – was it something he’d said? “Don’t you like guys, Ze?” Well, may as well be direct and to the point. Alex scooped up his long tresses and laid them on his legs, running his fingers through them mindlessly, taming the gentle waves into something easier to handle. “I actually had a walk around the town before but,” cue a small, airy sigh, “I didn’t see anyone that really interested me.” Alex glanced up and, bingo. Eye contact. Tiny smile. “You’ve caught my eye though.” And why wouldn’t he? Zephyr had a nice face, a nice body and a nice disposition about him. Maybe a little bit green compared to what men he usually chased and lusted over but… there was definitely something there that had his attention.
